McGill University Cost of Attendance

University has places for students to live while they study. There are different kinds of places to live. There are 9 places for undergraduate students downtown. Three of them are like hotels, five are like dorms, and one is like an apartment. Graduate students at McGill can choose to live in a house with shared facilities or in an apartment. All students who live in the downtown residences have to buy a meal plan. The rooms in the residences have things like beds, desks, dressers, and bookshelves. The cost to live on campus for a year is $6370. There are also meal costs, which add up to $2600 for the year.

If students don't want to live on campus, they can find places to live off campus. There are websites where students can find places to rent. The rent usually includes things like internet, electricity, furniture, and security. Some places also offer meal plans. Many of these places are close to the university. The rent for off-campus housing is usually between $650 and $800 per month. Some places also have extra facilities like gyms, common areas, and swimming pools.

McGill University Campuses

McGill has two nice campuses: downtown and Macdonald with modern facilities. Both are easy to reach by bus or bike. They are connected by a shuttle bus. It takes about half an hour to go from one campus to the other.

  • One campus is downtown, right in the heart of Montreal. It's like an oasis in the middle of the city, sandwiched between Mont Royal park and the busy downtown area. There's so much to explore nearby – from great restaurants and cafes to interesting museums and green spaces.
