University College Cork Work Study Programme

The Study/Work Programme offers an 8-month opportunity for individuals from both the European Union (EU) and non-EU countries to combine language learning with work experience.  While EU applicants can participate freely, non-EU students from the European Economic Area (EEA) can obtain permission for a maximum of three language courses, allowing them to stay for a total of two years (three 8-month periods).

The program provides flexibility, allowing students to choose their study intensity. They can opt for either 20 or 16 hours of language classes per week for 25 weeks.  This leaves ample time for other pursuits, such as part-time work or enjoying holidays.  Specifically, non-EU students can work up to 20 hours per week while attending classes. Additionally, they have the advantage of working full-time (40 hours/week) during designated periods between December 15th and January 15th, and between May 1st and August 31st.
